Selling and buying houses or flats can be complicated
and stressful; to help you through the process you need
a solicitor who is totally committed to looking after
your interests. At Nantes Solicitors we will make sure
that you are given impartial advice on all aspects of
the transactions so that you can make the best decisions
at each stage.
Our fees are quoted to you and fixed at the outset;
they are only payable if you exchange contracts.
When we act in a sale we can also do your Energy
Performance Certificate for a fixed fee. This is only
payable if you exchange contracts. We will normally
prepare the contract documents as soon as you ask us to
act (even before a buyer is found). This way we
can identify problems early, and help prevent them from
holding up the sale when a buyer is eventually found.
Once you have found a buyer we send out the contract
documents to the buyer’s solicitor, and will then report
progress to you at pre-agreed times.
You never have to call us to find out what is
happening.
Acting for you in a purchase usually has a greater legal
content from your point of view. You need to know that
the extent of the property you are buying and the rights
that you have been told come with it are legally
enforceable. We will actually take you through the
paperwork at an interview, or by telephone if you do not
wish to come in to see us. Many other firms only send
you a long and confusing contract report, and do not ask
you what you are expecting.
